Classmate Camera Angles

The two blogs I chose to comment on were Lily's and Miranda's. Their shots were very good and I am glad that I chose them. They were high quality and that helped me write my comments. 

Miranda
The first shot I decided to comment on was her "Tight Shot". Her tight shot was very close up making it feel much more personal. There was also a very aesthetically pleasing sun glare which added even more to the shot. The second shot was the Over the shoulder shot. Her over the shoulder shot helped me feel like I was actually apart of the conversation. The third shot I chose was the reaction shot. The reaction shot was very7 emotional and helped me feel what Cooper was feeling in the shot. The last shot was the Full shot. This shot helped me establish a scene and know that she has a place to go.

The first of her shots that I chose was the close-up shot. This shot helped me as a viewer know that what was happening on the phone was important to the scene. The second shot was the reaction shot. This shot helped me know that something very important just happened or is about to happen. The third shot was the Over the shoulder shot. This shot made me feel as if I was in the scene myself, but I also knew as a viewer that what was going on on the phone was important. The last shot was the follow shot. The follow shot really embraces the viewer into the scene because you feel like you are doing their action yourself.

Observing Camera Angles From "The Office"

          For this assignment, I chose one of my favorite shows, "The Office." The style of this show is completely in a hand-held style, meaning a camera crew is following the actors instead of using a tripod. This show includes many different camera angles, but the three that I will be addressing today, are the High-Angle shot, Over-The-Shoulder shot, and the Reaction shot.           The High-Angle shot is used to show a scene where something happened or is happening over a large space, and where many things are going on at once. In my example, Dwight (The employee the office likes to mess with) is sent on a fake scavenger hunt, that eventually, the entire office is fooled by and helps to look. Master Shots

I want to start off this blog post by apologizing for my lateness. I finished editing the video at around 10:30 last night and my parents turn the wifi in the house off at 10 leaving me unable to upload to youtube. Thank you. This blog post is about my MASTER SHOTS. I filmed shots based on Contrast, Parallelism, Symbolism, and Leitmotif. Click here to view my video. Contrast - I chose to show the contrast of two things that are heavily present in my life, School and Theatre. The shot shows me opening a calculus textbook then the shot changes and shows me closing the script for the most recent show I was cast in.
