This week we were given a list of many different shots/ camera angles, wee then had to choose around 12 of them to produce ourselves. When I saw that we were doing this project I was very excited. I have always loved filmmaking so this project was right up my alley. I decided I didn't only want to do the project and get it over with but also have a fun time doing it. During my Friday night shift Starbuckscks, we were extremely slow, meaning we could get all of our closing duties done extremely early, givng us a lot of time to work on this project together. My friends/ co-workers got extremely into the idea and we got most of it done while also enjoying oursleves the whole time. Choker- This is a close up shot of my eye Close Up- A close shot of a Starbucks cup being lifted off the table Dolly Shot- For this shot I set my camera on my desk chair and rolled around my house Extreme Long Shot- For this shot my brother and I used his drone to get a...
For this assignment, I chose one of my favorite shows, "The Office." The style of this show is completely in a hand-held style, meaning a camera crew is following the actors instead of using a tripod. This show includes many different camera angles, but the three that I will be addressing today, are the High-Angle shot, Over-The-Shoulder shot, and the Reaction shot. The High-Angle shot is used to show a scene where something happened or is happening over a large space, and where many things are going on at once. They have just been given a clue that led them to the warehouse. They work in a paper company, so their warehouse has thousands of pieces of paper, so the people in the office felt the need to check them all. As you can see, th...
I want to start off this blog post by apologizing for my lateness. I finished editing the video at around 10:30 last night and my parents turn the wifi in the house off at 10 leaving me unable to upload to youtube. Thank you. This blog post is about my MASTER SHOTS. I filmed shots based on Contrast, Parallelism, Symbolism, and Leitmotif. Click here to view my video. Contrast - I chose to show the contrast of two things that are heavily present in my life, School and Theatre. The shot shows me opening a calculus textbook then the shot changes and shows me closing the script for the most recent show I was cast in. Parallelism - For this shot I wanted, again, to include something that I do a lot, play video games. For this shot, I switch between the point of view of my gameplay, to the view of my facial expressions while playing the game. Symbolism - For this shot I wanted to symbolize growth by showing a picture of me when I was only 9 months old, then morphing into...
